Gary Italiaander is known internationally for his work as a Portrait Photographer and Image Restorer in addition to being an Author, Musician, Interviewer, Educator and sought after Guest Speaker.
He provides photographic services to an international client base and his portraits incorporate facets of the lives of the people he portrays and hang in homes, offices and palaces on every continent.
Having shown musical ability at a very young age beginning with the harmonica, Gary studied at the London College of Music under the Directorship of Dr W S Lloyd Webber. He qualified as a piano teacher and music specialist completing a further year’s study at the University of Reading. He continues to be passionate about music with many harmonica recordings to his name.
After a few years teaching, a major change of direction took place into the world of Photography. He soon came to the attention of Harrods who invited him to open the Italiaander Portrait Studio at the store and from where all portraiture for Harrods clients was commissioned. After a few years, Gary left Harrods to allow greater freedom to travel to assignments abroad and to develop other significant projects. He has been involved with many photographic organisations within the UK and was awarded an Honorary Membership of the Master Photographers Association, received as a gesture of thanks for work raising funds for charities in association with MPA photographers throughout the United Kingdom. Gary continues to work with a variety of charities, as he has done throughout his working life.
Apart from his photographic work being widely published, he has tested photographic inkjet paper for Ilford and his work has been used on their packaging worldwide. In addition, he has represented Olympus cameras.
Gary's friendship with Larry Adler, the legendary harmonica virtuoso, led to him writing a book in tribute to Larry with contributions from Sting, Sir George Martin, Cher, Julian Lloyd-Webber, and many other luminaries (contact details below).
Gary's second book entitled ‘My Father’s War’ with the foreword written by Dame Vera Lynn, was published on 22 May 2023 and is available from Amazon in print and e-book version. Signed copies are available direct from Gary Italiaander by CLICKING HERE

Thank you for 'Reflections'. I just wanted to congratulate you. It is absolutely fantastic. A brilliant and lovely read. A very fitting tribute to a remarkable man I will remember for the rest of my life. I salute you Gary.
